High Performance Starts with Better Performance
For the past two years, we have examined the A Player (top 10%) and B Player (11 to 20%) performance in banks $50 million to $10 billion in assets. One refrain we continue to hear, however, is that while A Player High Performance is a laudable goal, the distance from where a bank is presently to that Top 10% can seem insurmountable.
Consequently, this quarter more fully defines performance across deciles, providing smaller, incremental goals for banks to work toward. On some measures moving up one decile bracket would translate into appreciable share value improvement. Reviewing the data below in the context of your own bank is a worthy endeavor for the vast majority of bank executives of financial institutions with assets less than $10 billion as of March 31, 2015.
